Valentina Grisales: poetic art on memory, emotionality and daily life in Colombia

Observing oneself inhabiting the world and leaving traces of that experience through drawing, color and poetry is a fundamental part of her artistic process.

Her work explores the deep connection between emotion and memory through graphic and literary analogies.

She uses writing as a primary creative act, later translating it into gestural compositions and visual metaphors that inhabit space with sensitivity. Her pieces rely on symbols, traces, and gestures that narrate intimate stories without revealing their specific circumstances.

Her work often questions the pain that comes with existing in the world, as a way to process and make sense of the complexity of life.
Each gesture becomes an act of listening, both to the body and to the surrounding environment.

Valentina works through processes that involve contemplative actions, the passing of time, and practices that deepen her connection to the territory she inhabits.

Valentina lives and works in Manizales, Colombia.
